  • Confined Space Awareness

    This course delivers essential knowledge to any worker who may work around confined spaces. The hazards that exist and that are met when entering and working in a confined space are capable of causing injury, illness and death. When working around a confined space, it is necessary to be aware of the dangers that exist in and around the confined space area.

    The MOL certified Working at Heights program is designed to provide instruction to any worker who is assigned work that may require working at heights criteria whereby fall arrest protection equipment and safeguards are required to be implemented.

  • Asbestos Awareness

    The Asbestos Awareness course is intended for anyone who may come across asbestos in their normal line of work, or anyone who works in a facility where asbestos may be present. It is intended to increase worker knowledge regarding asbestos, and to reduce the hazard of accidental exposure.

  • Chemical Hazards

    The Chemical Hazards course will give users an understanding of basic chemical principles and terms, the hazards associated with the various broad classes of compounds, and the dangers of inappropriate storage and mixing of incompatible materials.

  • General Orientation

    Prerequisite for General Orientation is Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015) training dated within one year. General Orientation is valid for a 2-year period. This course takes approximately 2 hours to complete. There is a 40-question Final Test at the end of this course, which requires a grade of 80% in order to pass. NORCAT will build orientation programs to suit company and site specific requirements.

  • Underground Orientation

    Prerequisite for Underground Orientation is a valid NORCAT Contractor Card (General Orientation) and WHMIS. Underground Orientation is valid for a period of 2 years. Underground Orientation takes approximately 2 hours to complete and, if required, a 1/2 day of practical. There is a 40-question Final Test at the end of this course. The Final Test requires a grade of 80% in order to pass.

  • Respirator Fit Testing

    NORCAT's quantitative fit testing meets GSA Standard Z94.4 and is therefore recognized by Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations and Vale. NOR GAT's Testing Agents are trained in the regulations pertaining to this program and are competent in selection, use and care of respirators.

    This program covers the complete theory of operating a lift truck and prepares an operator for the practical component of the lift truck training. You will have an understanding of the fundamentals of operating a lift truck and the safety principles required to operate a lift truck safely.

  • Vale General Orientation Tier 1

    To reinforce the value 'Life Matters Most', Vale has implemented a Contractor Site Entry Orientation, which is a graduated process to gain access to areas within a plant or site where work activity takes place. Replacing the "Vale Global Golden Rules" training program, Vale's Tier 1 Orientation Module covers content common to all plants and establishes a core certification for accessing Vale Surface properties and prepares workers for the specifics of Tier 2 and Tier 3 modules according to individual work assignments.

  • Vale ZES CORE

    Minimum required ZES program for entry to Vale property. This program is theory only and is meant for non-working personnel who are entering the property.

  • Vale ZES Full Program

    This program consists of ZES001, ZES003, and ZES003.2. It is intended for personnel who will be performing work on company property, and takes approximately 8 hours to complete. It currently has a one-year expiry date.
