Job Description

• Manage all casework including outreach on all matters related to the Federal Government
• Manage and respond to queries from the public in person, by phone or email and take appropriate action to resolve
• Ensure constituent confidentiality
• General office administration and telephone reception
• Manage, track and prepare correspondence
• Database management
• Process, create and ship celebratory scroll requests for the MP, Prime Minister, Governor General and the Queen
• Manage and maintain office filing system
• Work closely with secondary constituency office as well as the Parliament Hill office to ensure shared priorities and consistent messaging
• Keep up to date on local media issues and events
• Community and public outreach (including possible event planning and execution)
• Available to work some evenings and weekends as required*

• Bilingual in both French and English oral and written communications
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Ability to manage multiple tasks

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high stress environment
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office and a general computer literacy
• Previous office experience is essential
• Previous experience working directly with the public is essential
• High personal energy, positivity and collaborative nature
• Knowledge of government departments and community organizations and ability to effectively liaise
• Stay up to date on local and governmental issues and events
