Job Description

To ensure that the healing and wellness needs of the Aboriginal community are addressed by implementing the Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Strategy at the local level in order to reduce family violence, promote healthy lifestyles, culture-based programming, and healing.

Job Benefits / Requirements

Possess a Social Services degree/diploma and/or 3-5 years equivalent work experience

Knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions

Fluency in the Ojibwe language would be considered an asset

Superior oral and written communication skills

Excellent group facilitation skills

Knowledge and experience working with Indigenous people

Excellent computer skills

Ability to work as a member of a team

Superior ability to meet deadlines with minimum supervision

Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of community resources

Willing to travel occasionally to attend professional development

Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle

A clear Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) which includes screening for vulnerable position will be a condition of the employment offer

Letters of 3 current work related references, cover letter, and resume outlining expression of interest for this position should be provided
