Overview
The Employment Specialist is responsible for the delivery of the employment services continuum and to support job seekers with barriers to employment obtain meaningful employment. It’s a 6-month Contract with possibility of extension
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts needs assessments with clients pertaining to motivation, employability and educational requirements to determine suitable interventions
- Assists clients with barriers to employment by providing support, advocacy, referrals and resources
- Develops strategies and provides ongoing support to facilitate job retention
- Completes and maintains accurate electronic and paper files
- Assists with the delivery of workshops, events and community networking opportunities
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in social services, personnel management and/or business administration resources
- 2 to 5 years of experience in employment counselling, recruitment, training and/or human resource management
- Proficiency in both official languages is an asset
- Must have a class G license, access to a reliable insured vehicle and have a good driving record
