Job Description:
The Job Developer is responsible for delivering a holistic approach to employment services by building strong partnerships with community businesses and guiding job seekers through the full continuum of career exploration, job matching, and retention support. This role emphasizes collaboration and engagement with local employers to create meaningful employment opportunities for clients while fostering supportive workplace environments.
The Job Developer establishes and nurtures connections with businesses to facilitate the hiring process and ensure job placements are successful for both employers and job seekers. In addition, this role provides resources and information to local businesses to help them create inclusive and supportive workplaces, enhancing their ability to attract and retain diverse talent.
Working closely with Employment Specialists, the Job Developer supports clients through personalized counselling, assessments, case management, and employment engagement. This includes offering wrap-around services that address individual client needs, ensuring they have the tools, resources, and support systems required to secure and maintain meaningful employment. The Job Developer also provides ongoing support during job placements, maintaining open lines of communication with employers and clients to address any challenges and foster long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in outreach activities with employers to identify opportunities and promote services
- Facilitates community presentation and networking events to increase awareness of programs and services
- Develop strategies to identify and facilitate job placement, job matching, job carving & job retention
- Match clients with employment opportunities aligned with their skills, interests, and career goals.
- Ensures eligibility criteria is met through onsite visits
- Provides ongoing HR support to employers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Human Resources, Social Work, Business Administration) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in employment services, job development, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of labor market trends and employer needs.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with employers and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in case management and employment counselling techniques.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in using employment-related software and tools (e.g., CRM systems, job boards).
- Proficiency in both official languages is an asset
- Must have a class G license, access to a reliable insured vehicle and have a good driving record
